Ragdolls
The installed addon reports 0.34.1. In JoltPhysics → Ragdoll create a Root, assign Armature and Generate Ragdoll Parts. The whole skeleton, including non-deform bones, is considered; existing parts are preserved. Current generation creates editable box shapes, not an anatomical fit. Edit dimensions instead of Scale. Limit: 64 physical parts.
Usage and limits#
Automatic connections follow the nearest ancestor bone with a physical part. Manual overrides survive. Connect Parts uses two viewport clicks: child first, parent second. Escape/right-click cancels; Undo reverses a completed connection. It changes physical parenting, not the bone hierarchy, poses, UUIDs or joint settings.
Separate groups have colors and root markers; Show Disconnections locates them without fixing data. Select Next Problem opens a problematic part. Export requires one main part, one connected tree and no cycles. Ragdoll JSON v5 has empty shapes and cannot mix ordinary controls/collision records. Green means valid authoring, not guaranteed simulation stability.
Swing Y/Z Min/Max allow one-sided bending: e.g. 0..120, other swing 0..0, Twist 0..0. Intervals contain zero and stay in −170..170 degrees. Asymmetric ranges use SixDOF with locked translation and pyramid limits; symmetric ones retain SwingTwist cone behavior. Update GML and DLL together.
Export matching BBMOD bones with +Z up, Mirror, Optimization None and Parent Space animation. Keep helpers outside the model hierarchy. Positive uniform armature_scale in v5 permits a checked bind-pose scale correction; every bone/hierarchy must still match. Nonuniform scale, reflection and shear remain unsupported. Imported JSON connections become Manual.
